Application Process

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

The admission and scholarship application deadline is February 15th. We accept applications after this date on a rolling basis.

To Apply

Tour and Interview.
Parents and students are invited to visit campus (ideally when school is in session), learn more about why Oak Hill is such a remarkable school, and whether Oak Hill is right for you.  An informal family interview will take place at this time and upper school student interviews will be conducted.

Apply.
Visit.
Schedule your student's campus visit.  Students in every grade should plan to visit for the day.  Students in grades 6-12 are paired with student Ambassadors: students vetted and trained by representatives of the admissions office to lead campus tours and visits.  Scheduling of your student’s visit will take place when the rest of the application is complete.

Testing

We do not teach to tests, however, we believe in using specific assessments to measure a student's readiness for school and also their appropriate class placements.
  • All applicants entering Kindergarten and First Grade take the Gesell Assessment: a "long-used and well-loved assessment...involv[ing] direct observation of a child’s growth and development, as well as some measures of achievement."  Parents may schedule their student's Gesell for their visit day.
  • Students entering grades 6-12 are asked to complete assessments in math, literature, and writing.  These are assessments created by our faculty that students can either complete during their visit or on an alternative day.  Please contact the Admissions Office for details.

Admissions Decisions

Once an application is complete, the Admissions Office circulates the application through the admissions committee.  Families that apply by February 15 will be notified of admissions decisions by March 15.  Families that apply at other times of the year should hear about admissions decisions within a week of completing the application.
