Kathy Westervelt

Faculty Menu

Kathy taught primary grades in So. California, San Francisco, and No. California for ten years. After an extended hiatus from teaching to be at home with her son, Kathy has returned to the classroom, more excited than ever, to bring her experience and enthusiasm to our classes at Oak Hill. Her goal as a teacher is to provide a secure, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that fosters independence, positive social interaction, mutual respect, and a lifelong love of learning.

Kathy has a BA in Liberal Studies, a Master’s degree in Public School Administration and Montessori training for ages 3-6. During her hiatus, she supervised Practicum teachers at Chico State University, managed her small town’s Farmers’ Market, and was a highly requested substitute teacher (pre-k - HS).
