OAK HILL COMMUNITY COUNCIL
STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Minutes for Steering Committee Meeting
on 12/14/05
1) Minutes from 11/16/05 were approved and copies made available.
2) In attendance were Ronnie Connell, Brenda Bair, Monica McEachern, Melissa
Davis, Donna Batson and Janet Gerard.
3) Wreath Update: Only 4 wreaths are left.
4) Rummage sale update: The sale was very successful. It is an easy way to raise
funds. Next year we will need more people to help, especially with set up and
pricing.
5) Alumni Committee: The cookie party will be held on Jan 2nd from 2 to 4 pm.
There may be cookies left from the faculty cookie trays.
6) Fac/Staff Appreciation: 12 people have volunteered to bake treats and 4
people have offered to put the trays together on Thursday in the morning.
7) Boosters Club: They will be in need of people to work concessions Jan thru
Mar for the basketball season.
8) Garden Committee: Most of the work has slowed down. The remainder will happen
in the spring. If Karen can find out where the school would like some trees
planted, she could do a tree planting training session. She’d like to get them
in before the end of Jan.
9) Lower School Pool: Jane Waite is no longer able to do this, so Melissa Davis
is taking over and will be letting the lower school teachers know that they can
come to her with their needs and questions.
10) Student Council: Student tutoring has been introduced to Bryce and the
council by Joel. They believe it will help retain students at school and help
the upper school students realize they are able to help and are an influence on
the younger students.
11) The trees offered for sale was a great idea. Maybe next year we could have
them set up and displayed a little better.
12) Heather Henderson has shown an interest in putting together a new family
handbook. Janet would be willing to help by defining such events as winterim,
quiz night, pizza Friday and the lunch program.
13) Donna will bring snacks to the next meeting which will be on Jan. 18th at
3:15.
