Art communicates personal expression, cultural values and heritage. Students learn how visual images influence human behavior, values and aspirations along with those of society. These courses cover three basic types of visual expression: fine arts, functional arts and environmental arts. In the first category, student projects include the fine arts of drawing, painting, glass fusing, sculpture and printmaking. The functional arts include ceramics, calligraphy, industrial design, graphic design and media exploration. Environmental arts are represented through student projects in architecture and community planning.
