Sixth Grade
(Math
Solutions) - Students
work on mastering arithmetic and problem-solving skills with whole and non-whole numbers.
Number theory, including factors, common factors, multiples and common multiples are
learned.
Estimation is stressed while students study addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division as they are used with fractions and whole numbers.
Concepts are stressed equally with skills and throughout all topics, problem solving is
integrated into the learning activities. Students frequently are given extended problems that require writing and presentations
of solutions.
