Eighth Grade
(Integrated with
History) - This
course seeks to cultivate in students an appreciation for literature and its major genres, as
well as a grasp of grammatical structures and literary devices.
Intensive instruction in research, analysis and writing should provide students with a
strong foundation to support the advanced work required by the Upper School. Representative
readings include Lord of the Flies, To Kill a
Mockingbird, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
